Doorstep Portraits – Community in Isolation
Nunthorpe and Marton Doorstep Portraits for NHS Charities Together.
Lockdown v1 was tough even for the lucky ones among us who were safe at home.
It’s a time we’ll all remember with mixed feelings. There was, however, some good that came from it. Many of the people I have spoken to talked about the valuable family time they gained and enjoying a slower pace of life.
I remember the empty streets, smiles and “Good Mornings” from strangers on our daily walk. The sound of the birds singing and all that sunshine.
My Doorstep Portraits were a way of keeping busy and using my skills to make a contribution to my community. These photographs were taken during my daily excercise, often with toddler in tow. From the footpath, with a long lens, I captured families during a historic time.
I hope these photographs will represent the happy and positive aspects of a difficult 2020.
Thanks to the generous donations of the families taking part I raised over £500 for NHS Charities Together.
Here are just a few of the Portraits from this project.
